about

I left you
Sometimes a song comes from absolutely nowhere and this is one of them. I have never left anybody. I seem to have the ability to become the person I’m writing about.
Someone is always leaving someone so it’s not exactly something I had to dream up. It’s around us all the time.

lyrics

I've been down and out, I've been blue
You see I've broken my own heart in two
Now look at me, I don't know what to do
Since I... left you

I thought that I could find a better way
Than live tomorrow like my yesterdays
Now all my dreams have turned as cold as clay
Since I... left you

Since I left you, there's no songs anymore
There's no sunshine, only rain at my door
Now I'm aching for the life I had then
I wish that I could be with you again

I watched the tears fall down at first daybreak
As I left home for this new life I'd make
That's the day I made my worst mistake
When I... left you

Since I left you, there's no songs anymore
There's no sunshine, only rain at my door
Now I'm aching for the life I had then
I wish that I could be with you again

A foolish heart, a foolish mind
I can see now girl that I was blind
You gave me more than I will ever find
Still I... left you
